We spent a nearly week at this villa and had a lovely time on the island. The villa was very modern with a divided layout, bedrooms at one end and living space on other side of the pool. Which was a little strange if you wanted to grab something to nibble on after you'd closed up the other side.
We had it mostly open when around but was advised to close up overnight or when gone. We had Wi-Fi but it was spotty and limited on living space side.
There were also some challenges with refrigerator having broken plastic shelves and an alarm that went off for hours after placing groceries.
The pool was wonderful but unfortunately the built in concrete platforms were not too comfortable. It would have been nice to have floating pads to put on concrete or float on. The lights for the pool were not functional.
The rooms were all clean and kitchen was fairly well equipped. It was in a gated area so we felt fairly safe and enjoyed our time and privacy.
Biggest challenge was lack of information prior to arriving and upon arrival. We were met by a woman at the car rental spot and escorted to the villa. She had us stop part way to grab groceries. Then we went up to the villa and she walked around with us but didn't seem familiar and then asked if we bought water to drink. Which we had not. So we did try to get by with what we had brought with our carry-on. There were minimal instructions both written or given by her.
We scheduled a date for the housekeeper to come but she came a day early with pool people, unannounced as we were preparing to leave. They serviced the pool while we were gone, filling it, but we had no water pressure when we returned after a day at the beach. We tried calling for assistance several times, but got really no response. We were told they were calling owner but never received call back. By the next afternoon, the water seemed to have replenished. This was frustrating as we had hoped to do some clothes washing, as we were completing our trip with a cruise.
Despite these challenges, we had a wonderful time, enjoyed the sunrises, as sunsets seemed to be on the other side of the hill, but we were usually out for dinner then. There were some wonderful restaurants on the French side. We visited many of the typical tourist spots and beaches.
The villa was very private and had beautiful views for celebrating our 35th Anniversary. I would recommend that there be more complete instructions about the villa and any idiosyncrasies for renters to use. I would have ranked 5 stars had these glitches been absent. Still would recommend this Villa!
